He rose to fame due to his role in a TV show called Balika Vadhu which addressed the issue of child marriage in India. Vikrant made his debut in Bollywood with the movie Lootera after working for several years in the television industry. Later he took up numerous unconventional roles in films like A Death in the Gunj and Lipstick Under My Burkha. The recent movie which is acted in was Chhapaak alongside actress, Deepika Padukone, which was based on the journey of an acid attack survivor. He will be seen working opposite Yami Gautam in an upcoming movie called Ginny Weds Sunny set to release this year.

Broken but beautiful web series narrates the story of Veer and Sameera who are heartbroken after losing their loved ones. They coincidently end up meeting each other and become good acquaintances leading Sameera to ask Veer to pretend to be her boyfriend. This master plan can give her a last chance to talk to her ex-boyfriend. But who knew this pretence could stir up real feelings within the two with no going back?
The season one of the show ended on a cliffhanger, giving viewers no clue if Veer and Sameera end up together.
